Growth of a Firm: SAS Announces Executive Promotions
Shaheed A. Smith Geospatial, LLC (SAS) currently serves clients throughout Mid-Atlantic Region with three offices and continues to grow with the addition of the Subsurface Utility Locating services.
In response to the growth of the firm, Shaheed A. Smith, President, named Morgan P. Abele, MBA Vice President of Operations and Beverly Y. Smith, Vice President of Administration in February 2023. Their elevation is a part of SAS’s strategic plan initiated nearly two years ago to provide opportunities for employee growth and expansion of its services and client base.
“Both Bev and Morgan have shown excellent leadership qualities and are willing to do whatever is needed to serve our clients, our staff and our community” said Smith “I’m confident that they will be pivotal in our success as we continue to grow.”
Morgan P. Abele, MBA has been with the firm since 2021, and has over 38 years of experience in the Utility Locating Industry. He began leading the firm’s Subsurface Utility Locating (SUL) group which has continued to expand as the firm grows its SUL services throughout our service area .
Morgan’s successes span across greater Philadelphia and a ten-state region where he has provided complete SUL services for leading private and public sector clients including DOTs, airports, railroad and transit authorities, developers, government authorities, utility companies and various municipalities.
He will remain focused on supporting his staff in delivering quality services to the clients we serve
Beverly Y. Smith has been with SAS from its inception in 2013, helping to build the company to what it is today. Her background is in healthcare and biological science, and she has 13 years of experience in Business Administration and Marketing.
Prior to joining SAS, she brought her attention to detail and love of working with people to an online marketing company where she worked her way up from sales rep to CEO of the company. Beverly has been instrumental in working with leadership to envision, develop, and implement strategies that drive long-term success.
At SAS, Beverly's expertise is as one of the visionaries of the company, procedures and policy implementation, budgets and financial analysis and obtaining and maintaining certifications. She also oversees HR and makes sure that the CORE values of the company are always at the forefront in daily practice.
In this new role, she will be responsible for leading all aspects of daily operations for SAS administrative functions, growing the technical and leadership abilities of the team through training and mentorship, and developing policies and strategies to position SAS for future success.
